Party Place Cards

For all you party planners out there, here's a super easy and clever way to make unique place cards for your next summer soiree. All of these craft ingredients can be found at your local craft store. I found mine at Michaels craft store. 

You'll need:

• Tiny terra cotta pots
• Moss
• Card stock paper
• Decorative paper punch
• Brown stamp pad (to antique the cards)
• 12 Gauge craft wire
• Wire snips
• Acrylic paint (I used gold)
• Small foam craft brushes
• Pencil
• Craft glue
• Computer & printer
• Rags or paper towels

Here's how you make them:

1. This step is optional but it gave my pots a really cool golden hue but you can use any color or none at all. Brush the paint on the pot then gently wipe off the paint leaving only traces of the paint color. Set aside to dry for about one hour.
2. Using a computer, print out the names of your party guests on card stock paper of any color. I used off-white paper.
3. Then, punch out the names using a decorative paper punch.
4. To antique the cards, use a clean foam craft brush and dip it into the stamp pad. Then brush the edges of the card.
5. Cut a 4" piece of wire and wrap one end, three times, around a pencil. This creates the little paper clip that will hold your place card.
6. Back to the pots….take a bit of moss and glue it into the pots to create a tiny mound of moss. Here's a little trick, if the moss seems or looks dry, simply run it under water to revive.
7. Then poke the wire paper clip you created into the moss. You can glue the wire in place if you like but the moss will provide support.
8. Place the card into the wire clip.
9. Your done!
